Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mt. Zion Prep Academy). They really took it to the Hewlett Sports Academy Eagles for the full four quarters, racking up a 35-0 victory. The Warriors not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since October 11, 2024 (when they won 37-0).
Brendan Perkins had an outrageously good game as he threw for 241 yards and four TDs on only 15 passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. Those 241 passing yards gave him a new career-high.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Mt. Zion Prep Academy's defense and their four sacks. Leading the way was Malachi McNair with two.
The win (which was Mt. Zion Prep Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 3-9. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.0 points on average over those games. As for Hewlett Sports Academy, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
