Volleyball Recap: Richfield Takes a Loss

Richfield extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 2-4. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Grantsville Cowboys. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cowboys apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Jerzy Moon paced Richfield's offense, picking up 13 kills. Moon got some help from Adrie Seely and her 26 assists. Seely and Moon didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with two apiece.

As for Grantsville, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since October 3, 2024.

Leading Grantsville to victory were Haizlee Hall and Avery Merrill. Hall had seven digs and two aces, while Merrill had ten digs. Merrill is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least ten every time she's taken the court this season.

Richfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Box Elder on the 22nd. As for Grantsville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Blackfoot on the 22nd.
