Basketball Game Preview: Bellingham Bayhawks vs. Sehome Mariners

Bellingham hasn't had much luck against Sehome recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bellingham Bayhawks will host the Sehome Mariners at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

On Tuesday, Bellingham came up short against Squalicum and fell 65-56. The Bayhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Sehome was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against Sedro-Woolley, falling 77-56. While losing is never fun, the Mariners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 234th, while the Cubs are ranked 57th).

Bellingham now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Sehome, their loss dropped their record down to 4-12.

Bellingham didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Sehome when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 57-52 victory. Will Bellingham repeat their success, or does Sehome have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
