Volleyball Recap: Mauston Snags Seventh Victory in Last Nine Games

It's playoff time, and Mauston had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Rhinelander Hodags by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hodags, too.

Mauston was especially dominant in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-18, 23-25, 25-7.

Ellie Pouillie was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 15 assists and six digs. That's the most assists she has posted since back in September.

When it comes to explaining why Rhinelander lost, don't look at Tori Stella. Despite the final result, she had 13 digs and one assist.

Mauston is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-11 record this season. As for Rhinelander, they dropped their record down to 3-33 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Mauston will challenge Reedsburg at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Rhinelander does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
