Soccer Game Preview: Rodriguez vs. Pioneer

The Rodriguez Mustangs will take on the Pioneer Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

Rodriguez fell victim to River City and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders. That's two games in a row now that the Mustangs have lost by exactly two goals.

Meanwhile, Pioneer's game on Friday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 3-1 to Vacaville. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 696th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 120th).

Rodriguez's loss dropped their record down to 5-8-1. As for Pioneer, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6-4.

Everything went Rodriguez's way against Pioneer in their previous matchup back in January, as Rodriguez made off with a 3-0 win. Does Rodriguez have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pioneer turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
