Softball Game Preview: Pottsville Apaches vs. Dardanelle Sand Lizards

Pottsville is a perfect 10-0 against Dardanelle since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Pottsville Apaches will look to defend their home field against the Dardanelle Sand Lizards at 4:30 p.m. Dardanelle took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Pottsville, who comes in off a win.

If Pottsville beats Dardanelle with ten runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. Everything went Pottsville's way against Dover on Monday as Pottsville made off with a 10-1 win. That nine run margin sets a new team best for the Apaches this season.

Addy Wilmoth was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one triple. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Madison Kellar, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Dardanelle came up short against Marion on Saturday and fell 7-2.

The victory was the third in a row for Pottsville, bringing their record for this year to 4-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Dardanelle, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Pottsville took their win against Dardanelle when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-2. Does Pottsville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Dardanelle turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
