            Baseball Recap: Fairfield Knights vs. York Catholic Fighting Irish        
        
		
        
        
            While Fairfield's  win against York Catholic wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Fairfield narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  squad sidled past York Catholic  14-13. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

 Gavin Cramer and  Brady Cahill did most of the damage at the plate:  Cramer  scored a  run while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances, while  Cahill  scored a  run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave  Cramer a new career-high in  RBI (three).  Vaughn Lewis also deserves some recognition as  he  brought in his first  RBI of the season.
 They weren't the only ones working in the  hit department: Fairfield  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 11  hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  hit total in three consecutive  matchups.
Fairfield's first  win this season bumped their record up to 1-2-1. As for York Catholic,  they are  on  a  four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 0-4.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairfield will venture away from home to  face off against Delone Catholic  at 4:15  p.m.  on Wednesday. As for York Catholic, they will head out to  take on Littlestown  at 4:15  p.m.  on Wednesday.
