Softball Recap: Lake Linden-Hubbell Picks Up Ninth Consecutive Win

Lake Linden-Hubbell waltzed into their game on Thursday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They didn't even let the Jeffers Jets on the board, marking their second-straight 10-0 shutout. Considering the Lakes have won 11 matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Ashlyn Steves was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Goldsworthy, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Lake Linden-Hubbell was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in eight consecutive contests.

Lake Linden-Hubbell's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Jeffers, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lake Linden-Hubbell beat the Jets by a score of 20-3 later that day.
