Soccer Game Preview: Rabun Gap-Nacoochee vs. Lakeview Academy

The Rabun Gap-Nacoochee Eagles will challenge the Lakeview Academy Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee fought the good fight in their overtime match against Carmel Christian on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 2-1. Rabun Gap-Nacoochee's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Their goal came courtesy of Maile Sirois, who's now up to nine this season.

Meanwhile, Lakeview Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Loganville Christian Academy by a score of 4-2. Given Lakeview Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 51st, while Loganville Christian Academy is ranked 279th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Lakeview Academy, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0.

Everything went Rabun Gap-Nacoochee's way against Lakeview Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2023, as Rabun Gap-Nacoochee made off with a 3-0 victory.
