Baseball Game Preview: Reagan Bison vs. Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lions

The Reagan Bison will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lions at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Reagan has struggled recently with 16 losses in a row, while Immaculata-La Salle will arrive with three straight wins.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Reagan's offense. They lost 15-0 to Hialeah Gardens two weeks ago.

Meanwhile, Immaculata-La Salle got the win against Miami on Tuesday by a conclusive 7-1. The Royal Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

Immaculata-La Salle got a great performance from Alexander Corzo as he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Corzo has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Connor Hernandez was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Jonny Quintana was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Immaculata-La Salle pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Reagan, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Reagan suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Immaculata-La Salle in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Bison avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
