Volleyball Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short

Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Continental Pirates. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Pirates when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Jefferson ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-17, 22-25, 25-18.

Myah Buettner paced Jefferson's offense, picking up 11 kills. Buettner got some help from Alissa Gallmeier and her 24 assists. Gallmeier was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Continental, their record now sits at 6-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jefferson will face off against Temple Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Continental, they will take on Holgate at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
