Softball Game Preview: Glen Burnie Gophers vs. Broadneck Bruins

The Glen Burnie Gophers will square off against the Broadneck Bruins at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

While Glen Burnie's victory against Atholton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Glen Burnie skirted past Atholton 8-7.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Broadneck ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Easton 4-3.

Rylan Crisafulli spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up 17 Ks. Those 17 strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Aliceanna Weibley was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Abby Favazza also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

The win got Broadneck back to even at 2-2-1. As for Glen Burnie, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
