Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Brooke Parker and Marlei Williams Lead Ragsdale to Victory

Ragsdale lost to Page back in December of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Ragsdale Tigers walked away with a 55-45 victory over the Page Pirates.

Leading Ragsdale to victory were Marlei Williams and Brooke Parker. Williams dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds, while Parker went 7 for 17 on her way to 18 points and six assists. Those 14 boards gave Williams a new career-high. Mackenzie Mayer was another key player, putting up six points and six rebounds.

Ragsdale smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in four consecutive contests.

When it comes to explaining why Page lost, don't look at Lola Vanore. Despite the final result, she went 6 of 12 en route to 14 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Emma Pyrtle, who posted eight points and six boards.

Ragsdale has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points per game. As for Page, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Ragsdale didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 43-39 win against Grimsley on the 31st. As for Page, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 61-36 victory against Piedmont Classical on the 30th.
