Softball Recap: Bartram Trail Comes Up Short

Bartram Trail lost against Paxon School For Advanced Studies back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bartram Trail Bears came up short against the Paxon School For Advanced Studies Golden Eagles, falling 11-3. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rommeney Patrey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hailey Allen was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing four bases while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in stolen bases. Joslyn Goebeler also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Bartram Trail's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Paxon School For Advanced Studies, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Looking ahead, Bartram Trail will take on Matanzas at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bartram Trail is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season. As for Paxon School For Advanced Studies, they will square off against Sandalwood at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
