Baseball Game Preview: Warren Central Warriors vs. North Central Panthers

Warren Central is 2-8 against North Central since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Warriors will be taking part in a tournament against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Warren Central turned things around against Ben Davis on Wednesday. They walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Giants.

Keith Jackson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted over his last ten games.

Jackson wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Dennison, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs Dennison has posted since back in April.

Warren Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ben Davis only managed five hits.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but North Central ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past Guerin Catholic 2-1.

Tristan Wilson looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

North Central's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Warren Central, their victory bumped their record up to 4-13-1.

Warren Central suffered a grim 14-0 defeat to North Central in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
