Basketball Recap: East Marion Eagles vs. Sacred Heart Crusaders
The East Marion Eagles had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 51-36 win over Sacred Heart. That result was just more of the same for these two, as East Marion also won the last time the pair played back in January.
East Marion's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jakeria McCloud, who scored 17 points along with four steals and three blocks. It was the first time this season that McCloud posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Kylie Watts, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 rebounds and nine blocks.
East Marion is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-10 record this season. As for Sacred Heart, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-18.
East Marion does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sacred Heart also has no future games currently scheduled.
