Baseball Recap: Maria Carrillo Wins Going Away Against Ukiah

Maria Carrillo's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 13-5 margin over the Ukiah Wildcats. The Pumas might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by six runs or more this season.

Jackson Hunt tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Tristan Jordan was incredible, scoring a run while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Jaxon Purugganan was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Maria Carrillo's record now sits at 7-2. As for Ukiah, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-3 record this season.

Maria Carrillo will be playing at home against Rancho Cotate at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rancho Cotate will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Ukiah, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Casa Grande on the 22nd.
