Baseball Recap: Westbrook Takes a Loss

Westbrook extended their losing streak to five on Monday, dropping them down to 0-5. They came up short against the South Portland Red Riots, falling 10-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Blue Blazes were not able to get on the board.

As for South Portland, they pushed their record up to 5-2-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. That looming 10-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

For South Portland's part, Hudson Iacuessa was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 15 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Iacuessa has posted since back in May of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, Parker Reny and Jude Charltray did most of the damage at the plate: Reny got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Charltray went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Charltray a new career-high. Shea Healy also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
