Basketball Recap: Delta Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

Delta extended their road winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Jillian Barr. The Delta Eagles had just enough and edged the Yorktown Tigers out 53-50 thanks in part to Barr, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards. Her evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Griffyn Knight, who posted 13 points. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 17 games she's played dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, Yorktown still got an impressive performance from Lilly Sylvester, who went 12 of 18 en route to 29 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave Sylvester a new career-high in points. Rylie Johnson was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.

Delta has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Yorktown, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6.

Delta didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 54-43 victory against Wapahani on the 18th. As for Yorktown, they will be playing at home against Frankton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
