Pikeville dropped their record down to 8-9 on Friday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They took  a  5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raceland Rams. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in April of 2024.
 Pikeville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Bash Ryan, who  went 2-for-3 with one  run and one  double.  Bradyn Hall also deserves some recognition as  he  hit his first  double of the season.
As for Raceland, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games.
On Raceland's side,  Kadin Shore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered  just two earned runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Brigham Davidson, who  went 1-for-2 with two  runs and one  stolen base.  Cade Coldiron was another key player,  going 1-for-2 with one  stolen base and one  RBI.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pikeville will venture away from home to  face off against Boyd County  at 1:00  p.m.  on Saturday. The Lions will roll in looking for their  ninth straight  victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Raceland, they will head out to  take on Lewis County  at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. The Rams are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on  a  three-game losing streak.
