Softball Game Preview: Sterling Heights Stevenson Titans vs. Warren Woods-Tower Titans

Sterling Heights Stevenson will face off against Warren Woods-Tower at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Sterling Heights Stevenson has struggled recently with 24 defeats in a row, while Warren Woods-Tower will arrive with three straight wins.

Friday just wasn't the day for Sterling Heights Stevenson's offense. They came up short against Utica on Friday, falling 10-0. That's two games in a row now that the Titans have lost by exactly ten runs.

Meanwhile, Warren Woods-Tower got themselves on the board against Hazel Park on Friday, but Hazel Park never followed suit. They blew past the Vikings 15-0. Considering the Titans have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Warren Woods-Tower got a massive performance out of Gabby Lewis, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Lewis has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Atiana Guzman, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and three runs.

Warren Woods-Tower's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-13. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Sterling Heights Stevenson, their loss dropped their record down to 0-20.

Sterling Heights Stevenson might still be hurting after the 12-3 defeat they got from Warren Woods-Tower when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can Sterling Heights Stevenson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
