Casen Springer gave up the fewest earned runs he has since April 1st on Wednesday. He was dynamite, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Loretto is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 8-13 otherwise.

Looking ahead, Springer and Loretto will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Richland at 6:30 p.m. The Mustangs got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Raiders thanks in part to Springer: he went 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
