Basketball Recap: LaPoynor Takes a Loss

LaPoynor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 42-39 heartbreaker at the hands of the Alba-Golden Panthers. The Flyers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

LaPoynor's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-8. As for Alba-Golden, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-9 record this season.

LaPoynor will finish 2024 at home by hosting Palestine on December 28th. Alba-Golden and Boles will round out the year against one another at at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
