Basketball Game Preview: Timberland Wolves vs. Burke Bulldogs

The Timberland Wolves just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Burke Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Timberland was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 48-43 to Woodland. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Burke entered their tilt with Academic Magnet on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They took down the Raptors 70-52. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while the Raptors are ranked 264th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Burke's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points over those games. As for Timberland, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-16.

Timberland came up short against Burke in their previous matchup two weeks ago, falling 72-63. Can Timberland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
