Preview: Southwood Knights vs. Mississinewa Indians
Southwood has been on the road for four straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Mississinewa Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Southwood comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Southwood's 19-6 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. The match between Southwood and Rochester wasn't particularly close, with Southwood falling 39-25.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Gracie Lambert, who scored 8 points along with 8 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Mississinewa came up short against Eastbrook on Friday and fell 41-28. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mississinewa in their matchups with Eastbrook: they've now lost seven in a row.
Southwood's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Mississinewa, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
Southwood didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Mississinewa in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 51-46 victory. Does Southwood have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mississinewa turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
