Basketball Recap: Natalie Poole's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Weddington over Mcdowell

On Monday, the Weddington Warriors came up short against the McDowell Titans and fell 58-47. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while the Titans are ranked 13th).

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Natalie Poole, who went 6 of 11 on her way to 18 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Motto, who posted eight points and six rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Weddington and nudges their season record down to 7-5. As for McDowell, the win keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Weddington didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-37 victory against Nation Ford on the 3rd. As for McDowell, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 62-33 win against Avery County on the 2nd.
