Football Recap: Galt Takes a Loss

Galt fell victim to Amador and their airtight defense on Friday. They were dealt a 47-0 loss at the hands of the Buffaloes. The Warriors' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

Robert Rubio threw for 85 yards on nine of 19 attempts. Anthony Harrison was his top target, picking up 30 receiving yards.

Amador's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was John McPartland, who rushed for 28 yards and two TDs, and also threw for 127 yards and one touchdown on only 11 passes. Another rusher making a difference was Michael Nunes, who gained 119 total yards and two touchdowns.

Galt's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Amador, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Galt will face off against Argonaut at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will be up against the Mustangs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 36.14 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Amador, they will square off against Union Mine at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Buffaloes will be up against the Diamondbacks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.29 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
