Basketball Game Preview: Chicago Marshall Commandos vs. Perspectives Leadership/Technology Warriors

Two dominant guards in Darrin Laye and Phoenix Childs are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Chicago Marshall Commandos will venture away from home to take on the Perspectives Leadership/Technology Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chicago Marshall will be strutting in after a victory while Perspectives Leadership/Technology will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Thursday, Chicago Marshall earned a 52-40 win over Farragut. The 52-point effort marked the Commandos' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chicago Marshall to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ricky Stanciel, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 boards. The dominant performance also gave Stanciel a new career-high in assists (two). Another player making a difference was Laye, who went 5 of 11 en route to 13 points along with seven assists and three steals.

Chicago Marshall was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Perspectives Leadership/Technology unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a blow against Vashon, falling 77-35. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 69th in Illinois, while the Wolverines are ranked first in Missouri).

Chicago Marshall pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.1 points per game. As for Perspectives Leadership/Technology, their loss dropped their record down to 7-2.
