Football Game Preview: North Moore Mustangs vs. Southwestern Randolph Cougars

The North Moore Mustangs will venture away from home to take on the Southwestern Randolph Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Moore hasn't scored more than 13 points for four games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

North Moore's offense might be in the hot seat on Thursday considering what happened against Eastern Randolph on Friday. They were beaten by the Wildcats 56-0. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 349th, while the Wildcats are ranked 103rd).

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Southwestern Randolph beat Northwood 20-14 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Southwestern Randolph's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for North Moore, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

North Moore was dealt a bruising 34-7 defeat at the hands of Southwestern Randolph in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
