Football Game Preview: Mt. Vernon/Plankinton Titans vs. Mobridge-Pollock Tigers

The Mt. Vernon/Plankinton Titans will take on the Mobridge-Pollock Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mt. Vernon/Plankinton's defense has only allowed 14.5 points per game this season, so Mobridge-Pollock's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Mt. Vernon/Plankinton barely beat Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Titans were the clear victors by a 30-6 margin over the Blackhawks on Friday. That's two games straight that the Titans have won by exactly 24 points.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Mobridge-Pollock took on Deuel on Friday. The Tigers took a 40-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals. The Tigers have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

The win (which was Mt. Vernon/Plankinton's third in a row) raised their record to 4-4. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.0 points on average over those games. As for Mobridge-Pollock, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.
