After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Heritage, Rock Ridge was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Loudoun Valley Vikings. This was a revenge game for the Phoenix: when they faced off against the Vikings back in September, they had to take a 3-0 defeat.

Rock Ridge's win ended a four-match drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-7. As for Loudoun Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Rock Ridge and Loudoun Valley could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. The Phoenix (ranked 350th) will meet Potomac Falls (ranked 33rd) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Loudoun Valley will take on Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (205 vs. 84).
