Volleyball Recap: Stoneham Comes Up Short

Stoneham came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Burlington Red Devils, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-16, 25-12.

Burlington's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lexie Carmody, who had 11 digs. Cassidy Hanlon also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.

Stoneham's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Burlington, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Coming up, Stoneham will square off against Arlington at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Burlington, they will take on Concord-Carlisle at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
