Volleyball Recap: Adams Central Flying Jets vs. Woodlan Warriors

Adams Central entered their tilt with Woodlan on Saturday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They won by a set and slipped past the Woodlan Warriors 2-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Flying Jets also won the last time the pair played last Thursday.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Adams Central who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 23-25, 15-10.

Woodlan lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Makenna Smith, who had 15 digs. Smith is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in the last six games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Harvey, who had six digs.

Adams Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. As for Woodlan, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 15-7 record.

Adams Central is on the road again on Monday to play Norwell at 7:30 p.m. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Norwell has won three straight at home, while Adams Central won six straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Woodlan, they will welcome South Adams at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
