Baseball Game Preview: South Lakes Seahawks vs. Paul VI Panthers

The South Lakes Seahawks will head out to face off against the Paul VI Panthers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

South Lakes can't be to happy about their upcoming road contest considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home on Wednesday. They lost 9-2 to George C. Marshall.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Paul VI duked it out with Bishop Ireton on Wednesday. Paul VI came out on top against Bishop Ireton by a score of 6-2. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Paul VI got a great performance from Matthew Roussey as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Roussey has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Thomas Jewett was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Will Tighe was another key player, getting three hits from his three at bats.
