Baseball Recap: Neptune Comes Up Short

Neptune managed to slip by Barnegat the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Scarlet Fliers lost 12-0 to the Bengals on Friday. The Scarlet Fliers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bengals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2022.

Neptune saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Morgan, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Morgan has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Neptune dropped their record down to 4-13 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Barnegat, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season.

Neptune does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Barnegat, they will face off against Ocean Township at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
