Basketball Recap: Hapeville Charter Takes a Loss

Hapeville Charter came up into this matchup off a tough 62-point loss last Monday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Carver Panthers by a score of 38-35 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-31 last Monday.

Despite the defeat, Hapeville Charter saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Janiah Murray posted 30 points and five steals. The contest was Murray's third in a row with at least 20 points. Another player making a difference was Tubriyia Daniels, who had a point along with ten rebounds, five steals, and five blocks.

Carver's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amiyah Floyd, who earned 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Hooks, who put up ten points.

Hapeville Charter's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Carver, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season.

Hapeville Charter has already played their next game (against Washington), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Carver, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 49-23 victory against Coretta Scott King YWLA on the 7th.
