Baseball Game Preview: Brazoswood Buccaneers vs. Clear Brook Wolverines

For the second straight game, Brazoswood will face off against Clear Brook. The Buccaneers will head out to take on the Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Brazoswood's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Clear Brook's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Tuesday, Brazoswood needed a bit of extra time to put away Clear Brook. They had just enough and edged out the Wolverines 3-2. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Buccaneers as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

For Clear Brook's part, Ryan Benavides was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, Clear Brook saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reid Ridley, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one double. Javien Carter also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
