Baseball Recap: Jefferson Takes a Loss

Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Winnebago Indians. The J-Hawks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Indians from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Jefferson saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Bauer, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Winnebago, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Looking ahead, Jefferson will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Durand/Pecatonica at 4:30 p.m. As for Winnebago, they will head out to face off against Stillman Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
