Softball Recap: North Summit Braves vs. Altamont Longhorns

North Summit extended their losing streak to 15 on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 1-16 in the process. They lost 19-5 to the Altamont Longhorns. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Longhorns this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-1 back in March.

TRINITY RIGBY made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. SAVANNAH WINDHORST was another key player, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with two runs.

As for Altamont, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-5. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by seven runs or more this season.

On Altamont's side, Kate Lindsay made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off only two hits. What's more, Lindsay posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was even better at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Hadley Mecham was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hazlie Bagley, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

North Summit didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 23-3 loss against Skyline on the 26th. As for Altamont, they have also already played their next contest, a 9-4 defeat against Taylorsville on the 26th.
