Baseball Recap: Chief Sealth Comes Up Short

Chief Sealth extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping them down to 6-5. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Nathan Hale Raiders. The Seahawks were not able to make up for their loss to the Raiders from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

Chief Sealth handed starting duties to Ezra Cox, who gave a strong showing despite the result: he pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Cox has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Chief Sealth saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nevin Pivar, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

As for Nathan Hale, their victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games.

On Nathan Hale's side, the team relied heavily on Kai Drohan, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that Drohan has launched this season.

Coming up, Chief Sealth will square off against Garfield at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Nathan Hale, they will take on Ingraham at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
