Volleyball Recap: Granada Bobcats vs. Stratton Eagles
Granada took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Stratton, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bobcats had just enough and edged out the Eagles 3-2 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bobcats have posted since September 23, 2024.
Granada wouldn't go down easily and took Stratton into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-21, 17-25, 22-25, 15-11.
Camryn Coleman paced Granada's offense, picking up 21 kills. Coleman got some help from Kinsley Williams and her 46 assists. Finally, Coleman was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high seven blocks.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaylynn Brandon, who had six digs and two aces.
The victory made it two in a row for Granada and bumps their season record up to 13-2. As for Stratton, their loss ended an eight-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-4.
Granada has already played their next matchup (against Holly), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Stratton, they will be playing at home against Limon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
