It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Panther Creek can now relate to. They fell 5-1 to the Van Alstyne Panthers on Friday. Panther Creek has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Alexis Taylor was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Taylor has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 17 consecutive pitching appearances. Taylor was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with a double and an RBI.

Taylor wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Reagan Hill, who went 1-for-3 with a triple and a run.

Panther Creek's loss dropped their record down to 20-8. As for Van Alstyne, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-11.

Panther Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Van Alstyne, they are on the road again on Saturday to play Canton. Canton will roll in looking for their 18th straight win, something Van Alstyne surely won't give up without a fight.
