Recap: Moundridge Wildcats vs. Goessel Bluebirds

The Moundridge Wildcats had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 50 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They strolled past Goessel with points to spare, taking the game 74-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Moundridge found their leader in underclassman Cammi Unruh, who scored 35 points along with six rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Unruh has scored all season. Addy Patrick was another key contributor, going 7 for 13 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 2 assists.

Moundridge has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Goessel, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-3.

Moundridge will head out on the road to take on Chaparral at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Chaparral focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Tuesday. Goessel will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Reno County HomeSchool at 6:00 a.m. on January 23rd.
