Baseball Recap: Bartlett Comes Up Short

Bartlett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Normal Community Ironmen, falling 7-1.

Bartlett got a good showing from Sean O'Reilley, who tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. O'Reilley has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bartlett saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josh Colaizzi, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Vince Kamarat also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Bartlett's loss dropped their record down to 2-6-1. As for Normal Community, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bartlett will take on Huntley at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Red Raiders will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last. As for Normal Community, they will square off against Danville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Ironmen are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
