Baseball Recap: Tushka Triumphs

Tushka won the last time they faced Durant and things went their way on Thursday too. The Tigers came out on top against the Lions by a score of 7-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Dj Alberda was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Tushka: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 8-10 otherwise.

In other batting news, Jace Hastings was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kason Hull, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Tushka now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Durant, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 16 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-16 record this season.

Tushka is taking a road trip to take on Tuttle at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Tuttle's pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so Tushka's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Durant, they will welcome Idabel at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
