Volleyball Recap: Central Starts Season with Victory Against Indio

Central had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Indio Rajahs on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Spartans also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

The win didn't come easy: Indio scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-23, 22-25, 25-18.

When it comes to explaining why Indio lost, don't look at Anitzi Zarco. Despite the final result, she had 53 digs. Zarco has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last six times she's played.

Indio's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central will look to takes advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they takes on Calexico at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Indio, they will welcome Bloomington at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
