Soccer Game Preview: St. Francis vs. St. Mary's

The St. Francis Red Raiders will challenge the St. Mary's Lancers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

St. Francis is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to seven goals last Friday, they were much more limited against Canisius on Tuesday. They lost 17-0 to the Crusaders. While losing is never fun, St. Francis can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York soccer rankings (they are ranked 291st, while Canisius are ranked 17th).

Meanwhile, St. Mary's entered their contest against Canisius on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Lancers came up short against the Crusaders, falling 5-0.

St. Francis' loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for St. Mary's, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
