Volleyball Game Preview: Hinkley Thunder vs. George Washington Patriots

The Hinkley Thunder will square off against the George Washington Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. George Washington took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Hinkley, who comes in off a win.

Hinkley took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They put the hurt on Lincoln with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Thunder as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Hinkley took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-14, 25-14.

Among those leading the charge was Eddy Aldana Salamanca, who had seven digs and three aces. Those three aces gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, George Washington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to Thomas Jefferson.

George Washington started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-14, 25-21, 25-18.

Hinkley now has a winning record of 7-6. As for George Washington, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.
