Basketball Recap: McCallum Comes Up Short

McCallum played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Bastrop Bears, falling 59-37. The loss continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Bears: they've now lost six in a row.

Navaeh Jones was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 14 boards for Bastrop. Jones has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more rebounds the last ten times she's played. Kenadee Lawhon was another key player, putting up 11 points and three steals.

McCallum's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Bastrop, they pushed their record up to 26-3 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home.

McCallum didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 36-25 win against Navarro on the 14th. As for Bastrop, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 64-28 victory against Richards School for Young Women Leaders on the 14th.
