Basketball Game Preview: San Diego Cavers vs. Christian Patriots

The San Diego Cavers will head out on the road to take on the Christian Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as San Diego comes in on four and Christian on five.

On Tuesday, San Diego had just enough and edged Eastlake out 57-55. Given the Cavers' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Titans are ranked 467th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Christian took their contest on Monday with ease, bagging an 83-35 victory over Otay Ranch. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 20 points or more this season.

San Diego pushed their record up to 18-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.2 points per game. As for Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

San Diego strolled past Christian in their previous meeting on January 10th by a score of 61-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for San Diego since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
